Apply for the WAVE Leadership Program
The WAVE Leadership Program—created by the West Kentucky Alliance for a Vibrant Economy—offers a unique, in-depth leadership experience designed to strengthen, inspire, and connect leaders across West Kentucky’s River Counties. Beginning April 2026, selected participants will embark on a six-month rediscovery of Ballard, Carlisle, Hickman, and Fulton counties. This program combines hands-on learning, behind-the-scenes tours, and expert-led discussions to deepen understanding of local challenges, opportunities, and community assets.
About the Program
The WAVE Leadership Program is built to elevate leaders who want to make meaningful, lasting contributions to the region. Through curated sessions, participants gain real-world insight into economic development, community planning, public services, local industry, and collaborative leadership.
Each month, the cohort meets in a different River County for immersive learning experiences that may include facility tours, historical and cultural exploration, leadership workshops, and conversations with community officials, business leaders, educators, and stakeholders who are shaping the region’s future.
Program Highlights
Six-Month Regional Leadership Journey
Beginning in April 2026, participants engage in a structured, six-month experience focused on rediscovering the strengths, needs, and opportunities of the four River Counties.
County-by-County Exploration
Each session takes place in one of the following counties:
